“The rose does not have a why; it blossums without reason, forgetful of self and oblivious to our vision.”
~ Angelus Silesius
I took this picture last spring for the soft focus prompt on Sinful Sunday. The one I posted at the time, Leaves and Roses, was what you could call the back view but I also shot the side and front views and they have been sitting in a folder on my computer ever since. Seeing as it is June and the month of roses seemed like the perfect time to share them so today here is the side and next week I shall share the final shot in the series.
If you are curious about how I took this picture. I used a pair of stockings pulled tightly over the lens to create the soft focus effect in camera rather than editing it afterwards. The only adjustments I made to this picture was the colours tone. As I explained at the times the stockings had given it a slightly blue tiny which didn’t look very natural. Apart from that it is how I shot it and so if you are looking for ideas to try some different photography you don’t need to spend money on a special lens when it comes to soft focus images, a pair of stockings will work just as well and cost you next to nothing in comparison.

Initial view from the reader on my phone I only saw the rose. Following the link to the longer piece, there was what I expected, a surprise. Artfully done beauty behind beauty.
Beautiful
So sensually beautiful 🙂
