Top 100 Sex Bloggers 2015

by Molly Moore
Top 100 Sex Blogges 400 Badge

Finally it is here; The Top 100 Sex Bloggers 2015 list.

If you are unaware of the history of the list and why I have taken this project on then make sure you read this post: Top Sex Bloggers 2015 Redux

If you have not read the pre-list post that was published yesterday, please do; Tomorrow is the big day. It might just answer any questions you have about the list and most importantly of all is full of very important thank you’s and some mentions to fabulous sex bloggers we have lost in 2015.

Also lets not forget past winner of this list who are: Sinclair SexSmith (2008) Coquitten (blog no longer available. 2009) (No winner in 2010) Guy New York (2011) Molly’s Daily Kiss (2012) Lady Pandorah (Blog no longer open. 2013) Girl on the Net (2014)

New Voice of the Year Award

This award goes to a blog that is new this year and therefore have not been around long enough to qualify for the Top Sex Bloggers list. After much sole searching I have decided that there are two winners of this award this year.

Melina Greenport: I discovered her blog through Wicked Wednesday and have fallen increasingly in love with her sexy, intelligent, beautiful writing. Seriously, if fabulous erotic fiction is your thing then this lady is going to rock your world.

Exposing 40: Exposing 40 has launched herself into the blogging world with style, grace and passion. Her site is a body positive adventure, centred around life in your 40’s. This blog is an unashamed look at, not only her body, but both male and female guests and challenges the traditional ideals of youth = beauty/sex and I am really looking forward to seeing where this project takes her in 2016.

And now with the previews done lets launch ourselves into the main event!

Top 100 Sex Bloggers 2015

1. A Dissolute Life Means

When I started this project I knew Hy was going to make the top 10 but once all the scoring was done she emerged a worthy winner of this years list. Her writing is fearless, bold, honest and raw. She never shies away from the realities of herself when it comes to her writing. She is funny, sexy, intelligent, thought-provoking, sometimes heart breaking, and often heart warming. She also runs the fabulous meme ‘a place for us to honour breasts of all shapes and sizes belonging to all types of folks’. In my opinion she is a most worthy winner!

2. Love Hate Sex Cake

I have long been a dedicated reader of Cheeky Minx but 2015 has seen her completely blow me away. Her photography is second to none and when coupled with her deliciously sexy prose packs a lust filled punch that will leave you breathless and returning again and again for more.

3. Malin James

Malin’s blog is a delightful mix of quality sexy erotica and thoughtful intelligent opinion pieces. One moment she will be knocking your knickers off with her erotic fiction and the next she will have you pondering the vagaries of life. She is a skilled and passionate writer, insightful, self aware and utterly engaging, her blog is one of those places that you can happily loose hours of your life in.

4. Dangerous Lilly

Lilly is all the things you want in a sex toy reviewer; honest, smart, dedicated, and knowledgeable. Her no nonsense writing is engaging and informative and damn can she make me laugh. This woman really knows her stuff, and she is my go to site when when I want to get an opinion on a sex toy. She is one of those bloggers who comes across as being totally and utterly herself and her blog is possibly one the best designed and easiest to navigate on this whole list.

5. Switch Studies

I first discovered Ginger Nic’s blog through Elust but doing the research for this list caused me to delve a lot deeper into her site, what I found totally hooked me in. Her writing is intelligent, artistic, and covers a wide range of topics. It is a true glimpse into her life and thought processes that will make you want to read on. There really is something for everyone here, regardless of your persuasion

6. Holden and Camille

In my opening post about the list back in January I said if you knock my knickers off you are going to do well and these guys totally did that. In fact they didn’t just knock them off they tore them off and threw them across the room. Their photography is quite frankly smoking hot. From suggestively erotic to devilishly filthy these guys have it covered, or should that be uncovered? This blog is a fabulous journey through one couples sex lives in the bedroom, living room, dinning room, bathroom, staircase and beyond and whenever I visit there I always end up leaving with the urge to indulge in a damn good fuck.

7. Remittance Girl

If, like me, you like your erotica raw and gritty with not a happy ever after ending in sight then RG’s writing is the stuff for you. Combine that with strong, well reasoned opinion pieces and you have got yourself a winner. In my opinion RG is one of the best writers of short erotic literature of our time. She has the power to make you think about human desire and eroticism in a way that will at times leave you uncomfortable whilst also turning you on.

8. Stranded in Toronto

There is no one else quite like Stranded in the sex blogging community in my opinion. A fine writer, he has a talent for combining sci-fi and fantasy with humour and hot dirty sex that will have you returning again and again to his site. 2015 has been the year of self publishing for him but that has not slowed him down when it comes to his blog. He is prolific in his writing and there is always something new to enjoy on his site.

9. The Big Gay Review

This blog was completely new to us and both of us were completely taken with it. It is beautiful presented, easy to navigate and his pictures of the products that he reviews are not only beautifully done but also numerous so you really get to see the products in detail. Oh and this guy is funny. He has a wonderful turn of phrase that resulted in us both sitting here chuckling to ourselves as we read. I have a feeling that hanging out with Dave in real life would be a total blast and he most definitely has been added to the list of sex bloggers I would one day like to meet in person.

10. Domme Chronicles

I have been a very long time reader of Ferns, in fact over the years I am fairly sure there is not much of her content that I have not actually read. Despite the fact that her kink is pretty much the direct opposite of mine I am an avid reader of her site. She is a phenomenal writer and her blog is an honest frank account of what it means to her to be a female Domme.

100. YOU! Rori always left this last spot free for the all the other awesome sex bloggers out there. I really have double, triple checked and more the list but I will be astounded if there is not a mistake in it somewhere that I have not spotted.

Wow!!!! First, a BIG thank you to Molly for taking this on! Second – Go Hy!!!! #1! You totally deserve it! Third – so glad to see so many of our long-time friend/bloggers (including Cara, Holden & Camille, and so many others) up on the list! Lastly, glad to see we made it – if only by a hair! Congrats to everyone who’s on the list and everyone who played along. If you don’t play, you don’t have fun! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 3:36 pm

Thank you guys, it was quite a task I can tell you

Kat March 2, 2016 - 2:48 pm

Wow! I didn’t even think I’d be nominated so to see illicitthoughts on the list is wonderful! I’m delighted!
Congrats to everyone involved!

Dangerous Lilly March 2, 2016 - 2:54 pm

I am pretty surprised, but utterly delighted, and really grateful. Thank you so much for saying that the site is well designed and easy to navigate because I have been working really hard over the last few months to make it that way. Thank you for the kind words, I needed that. But also, this boost comes at a really good time bc my mom is visiting for the first time in a year (not a great thing, lol) and I’m having surgery tomorrow which I’m super nervous about so now I get to internally squeal with delight all day whenever my mom starts to drive me nuts. I’ve said it before to Rori but I never expect to rank high on this list anymore simply because my blog feels so….clinical compared to what it used to be. It’s definitely not sexy anymore 😉

So thrilled for everyone who placed on the list, and happy to see blogs I don’t know about!

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 3:41 pm

Well you hard work paid off as we found your site one of the easiest to navigate and that is a really important thing that many people overlook. I don’t think your site comes across as clinical at all, quite the opposite in fact. I think you come across as someone who loves what they do even when life is throwing a curve ball.

I know have a vision of you in your surgical gown chuckling to yourself every time your Mom opens her mouth. Good luck tomorrow, I know it is all going to OK. I had my gall bladder out years ago and the change afterwards with regards to my digestion and pain was amazing.

Melina Greenport March 2, 2016 - 4:26 pm

Good luck with your surgery tomorrow… I hope all goes well with that and with your mom.

Hyacinth March 2, 2016 - 3:15 pm

I burst into tears at a stop light when I saw this.

I am so humbled and honored I am at a complete loss for words. I’m pretty sure this is a dream!

This community means everything to me and to be surrounded and inspired by such talent I just can’t even say… See? No words!

Thank you so much for this honor, Molly (and @domsigns!)! I will work twice as hard to live up to it.

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 3:42 pm

Watch out for the crying and driving thing Hy 😉

And this… “I will work twice as hard to live up to it.” then us reader are really the winners here!

Ann St. Vincent March 2, 2016 - 3:22 pm

Molly – am amazing list, thank you for all that you do. I’m thrilled to see Hy as #1 and some of my other favorites in your top 10 (go Ferns!!). Can’t wait to check out some of the new blogs as well. And I’m positively thrilled to be in your top 20 🙂

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 3:44 pm

A well deserved place Ann and I really do hope that people find some new reads from the list because there really is some exceptionally cool stuff here

Kilted Wookie March 2, 2016 - 3:33 pm

Shell-shocked, humbles and deeply honoured to be included on this list. “Thank you!” to everyone who nominated me, and to Molly for including me.

Cara Thereon March 2, 2016 - 4:08 pm

Thank you for doing all the hard work for this. I’m sure it was equal parts fun and tedious. I appreciate your dedication to this

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 4:42 pm

To be quite honest it was mainly a pleasure, getting to read so much good stuff. I did take up a lot of my time though as I really wanted to make sure I came up with a list that I felt was worthy of all the work Rori had done in the past. I am glad I took it on and if she does not return I will continue to do it because I believe that the community deserves it, both the writers and readers.

Marie Rebelle March 2, 2016 - 4:25 pm

Oh my, I have never been so high on any list. Thank you, Molly! And like I said yesterday, thank you for all your hard work 🙂

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 4:58 pm

I am going to go with, definitely not invisible…. quite the opposite in fact.

Melina Greenport March 2, 2016 - 4:29 pm

This is officially my new To Read list! I’m so happy to see so many of the blogs I love here and am really looking forward to checking out the new-to-me sites. Watching and learning, watching and learning. 🙂

Thanks, Molly, for all of the time and effort you put into this. You are AMAZING!!

And to be included as a new comer is… WOW! … It really keeps me motivated to keep writing. I’m so grateful to know that sometimes people like what I do. Thank you!

And thank you for giving us so much to read and look at – not only all the blogs on this list but your work too x x x

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 5:14 pm

“Molly Moore – you make me a braver writer and artist. ” if there is even half a truth in this then I am deeply honoured and proud!

Lunabelle March 2, 2016 - 6:36 pm

Molly (and DomSigns too!), thanks for your monumental efforts to make this list and keep the tradition alive. I’m flattered to have my blog mentioned here, and happy to see so many of my Blog Squad friends honored as well!

August MacGregor March 2, 2016 - 10:54 pm

Thank you for putting such a great list together! And I certainly agree with you about Melina Greenport’s writing being superb. I’ll have to check out some of the others in your top 100, as well.

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 11:54 pm

I hope you find something you enjoy

Epiphora March 2, 2016 - 11:42 pm

You are a brave soul for taking on this huge huge task! Thank you for including me; I am honored!

Molly Moore March 2, 2016 - 11:54 pm

Brave or maybe that should be bonkers!

Jaime March 2, 2016 - 11:51 pm

Thank you very much!

I used to be able to get away with writing up anything on my blog, because I was pretty sure no-one would read it. But thank you for helping me attract a reader or two.

Now that I’m getting hits, I promise to stay unguarded anyway. Except for protecting the identities of innocent parties.

Beck March 3, 2016 - 12:39 am

I’m so thrilled you’ve listed me. As you know, I’ve been considering closing my blog. I have been very close. However your words along with emails and DMs from a few made me realize that I do have a place in this community. Thank you. One thing…. Could you change the Twitter handle for me? It’s @Beck_Noire now.

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:14 pm

I am glad you are reconsidering. You would be a sad loss to the community. Twitter handle should be fixed now too

DucatiGuy March 3, 2016 - 12:59 am

I’m not unhappy about this but as far as I can tell there are few if any male bloggers on the list. Just curious to know if this was down to some sort of policy, or whether female sex bloggers are just better and/or more numerous?

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:22 pm

Hi DucatiGuy

Thanks for your comment. There is definitely no policy about gender when it comes to the list. The gender of the blogger was/is irrelevant. The list was compiled from all the blogs that were nominated as it is just not possible for me to scour the internet trying to track everyone down. Having been in the sex blogging community a long time now though I can tell you that it is definitely a female dominated genre. Something that I think is worth celebrating actually, as for most of history women talking openly about their bodies, sex lives and sexuality has been a huge taboo. Times are changing in that regard and I think that is a good thing. However, having male voices in the mix (and maybe more importantly trans and non gendered folks too) would also be a good thing. In recent years that has started to change and I hope it continues. There are two male sex bloggers in the top 10, 3 if you count Holden and Camille as one of them is most definitely male, and in the top 20 there are 5. So yes, there are more women than men but the men are definitely there

Girl on the net March 3, 2016 - 10:45 pm

Just curious, DucatiGuy, whether your enthusiasm for diversity extends to areas in which women have traditionally been underrepresented or if it only bothers you when there’s something you think guys are missing out on?

For the record, men ARE generally less prominent in sex blogging – although there are some EXCELLENT guys on the list, and I encourage you to check them out. Reasons for this are numerous and interesting.

But I’m a bit gutted that your first thought on being presented with a list like this, of awesome people in an area generally dominated by women, is to think ‘where are the men?’ The guys are doing great stuff and getting well-deserved recognition – if anything more than is proportionate given how many more sex blogs are written by women. They even, on Kinkly (another sex blog list) get their own category. Do you pop up in tech and journalism and business and banking and sport and comedy and film and TV and literary conferences to ask where the women are? I do hope so.

DucatiGuy March 4, 2016 - 11:01 pm

Ha, GOTN, I just dropped by to put up a link to your excellent post about this for anybody else that’s following this thread:

I can’t do justice to your comment without taking up way too much space here, so I’ll drop you an email.

Briefly though: You seem to imply that I’m complaining about gender imbalance, which is exactly not the case. I hold the view that people should be free to speak/write/act regardless of their perceived identity. So I’m endlessly interested in patterns of behaviour here in cyberspace, which is largely a friction-free environment.

If anything, I’m rather pleased that the internet, which was once the sole province of sexist and graceless male geeks, has been discovered by women. And that the majority of women on the top bloggers’ list proves my long-held view that women are much better at communicating, especially about ‘intimate’ stuff, than men.

Molly Moore March 5, 2016 - 10:31 am

Hi again DucatiGuy

It seems like you are not replying to me but are replying to GOTN…. maybe you would be better doing that on her blog, rather than ignoring me on mine

Kilted Wookie March 4, 2016 - 10:01 am

I have often jokingly suggested that the sex blogging universe is dominated by submissive women. Granted this is a tongue in cheek observation, but us male bloggers are well and truly outnumbered in this area.

Personally, I celebrate the fact that women have a platform where they can lead and discuss sex/sexuality/their bodies/relationships in their own words, on their own terms.

As for us men, well, we are here, happily playing our part.

Jade A. Waters March 3, 2016 - 2:29 am

Holy moly! First of all, what an *amazing* effort, Molly! Thank you for doing this. Then, whoa! It’s such an honor to be on this list chock full of such great bloggers. So cool! Thank you! XX

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:37 pm

Thank you lovely

Ferns March 3, 2016 - 2:36 am

I already told you I squeed *laugh*.

Thank you so much for the honour of being on your list and top ten is just… wow! That means so much to me, and I’m so delighted to be amongst such great and talented bloggers. I’m also really looking forward to discovering some fabulous new ones.

I know a ton of work went into putting this list together, so thank you also for the huge effort you and DomSigns put into it.

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:40 pm

Ahhh all the squeeing makes me very happy!

Mariasibylla March 3, 2016 - 4:14 am

Molly! Thank you for including my blog on this list!!! I’m totally over the moon about it and keep randomly smiling! I had no idea what my blog would be when I started and I’m still figuring that out, but you and your blogs/projects/photos/thoughts/life are a total inspiration to me. Being included here makes me feel like a real blogger! (Rather than a shy dabbler).

You and @domsigns give so much to this community, it’s unbelievable and amazing and truly, truly, a gift to the rest of us.

I can’t even begin to comprehend the time it took you to organize this. You are tireless! I’m so excited for all the new people you’ve introduced me to through this list. Thank you!!

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:44 pm

Definitely not a shy dabbler…. time to shake of that notion me thinks 😉

JoEllen Notte March 3, 2016 - 5:18 am

Reading over this list I was struck by what a fabulous job you’ve done showcasing all the different types of sites that have come to live under the banner “sex blog” – erotica, reviews, education, etc -it’s just such a great list! Thank you for taking on this massive task and thank you so much for including me on your list.

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:45 pm

Hi JoEllen

Thank you very much for this comment. I am pleased that the list is so diverse in that regard. I think it shows just how varied and wide ranging the sex blogging community is and that is a positive thing as far as I am concerned

Seattle poly chick March 3, 2016 - 5:51 am

Thank you! How flattering and cool to be included and to hear about these great blogs

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:46 pm

You are welcome. I hope you enjoy the list

Angela Goodnight March 3, 2016 - 8:22 am

Well done on all the work involved. Gutted not to be listed, but not everyone can win. Opening champagne, not to celebrate, but to get drunk! LOL.

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:53 pm

Thank you, there were a huge number of blogs nominated, it was a tough task getting that down to just 100. I am aware some will be disappointed and I am sorry for that

Cheeky Minx March 3, 2016 - 8:54 am

I’m still so overwhelmed I’m unsure what to say…!

It’s such an honour to be placed at #2 and among such incredibly talented writers and photographers. The fact that you and @domsigns think my work and site worthy (a site that is fabulous thanks to @domsigns’ patience and help!) means more than you realise.

So, thank you, Molly – for this incredible gift, for the inspiration your own work gives me, for your collective hard work, for a list brimming with my favourites and new and exciting finds…

~M xo

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 10:55 pm

Jo March 3, 2016 - 11:20 am

Molly – thank you so much for all the hard work you’ve put into making this list, and I’m stoked beyond belief to be on it! I’m new to this blogging thing, and thinking about how much time it takes just to write one post makes me awe-struck that you took the time to sift through and read so many sites. As a teacher who spends many an hour scoring papers, I *really* appreciate it!

Molly Moore March 3, 2016 - 11:02 pm

Thank you. It was a huge task but actually one that I got a great deal of enjoyment from

Forestter March 3, 2016 - 9:07 pm

Thank so much for the list. I see so many of the bloggers I follow and so many new ones. Some I have found through Sinful Sunday posts. Great job hosting all this information for us to enjoy.

Thank you, I hope you find some new reading that you enjoy

Wow. That’s a fabulous top ten, Molly! (So excited to see some of my own favourites there.) A big congratulations to all of them – and to everyone who made the top 100 – but also a massive thank you to YOU for compiling this list. A truly mammoth task, I have no doubt. Oh, and thank you for including me. 🙂 It means a lot (although I’m not sure I deserve to be in such fine company at the moment!) Jane xxx
