Folds

“Art is both the taking and giving of beauty, the turning out to the light of the inner folds of the awareness of the spirit.”
~ Ansel Adams

I have not down very well with Every Damn Day in June this week but were in the past I would have hated that fact I am actually philosophical about it. I had a day where my sites where down and that kind of had a knock on effect on my whole week. Usually I would have battled to keep up and make up what I had missed. This week I just rolled with it. I feel good about that.

I have quite a few posts I want to write over the next 10 days or so. If I manage even half of the ones I would like to write I will be happy with that. One thing that I am really enjoying at the moment though is my photography. I miss getting out in the woods etc with my tripod and camera but I have set myself the goal of doing just that before the end of this month. I also have uncovered a few images from shoots I did a couple of years ago that I actually never got round to editing. Those are on my to-do list as well. My images often inspire my words so hopefully that might help with the writing part too.

I have always started sharing an image a day on Twitter. Currently I am up to day 30 and have no plans of stopping. At first I thought I would do a months worth but I am enjoying it so much and it is a place where I can share portrait aspect ratio images that I sometimes don’t share here because as a general rule landscape aspect ratio tends to look better. I don’t know how long I will keep it up but if I am honest I have always wanted to do a 365 on my twitter account and I am starting to think this  will turn into that. No promises mind but if you want to find what I have done so far here is the link to the first post in the thread.

As Ansel said, art is both the taking and giving and I am finding joy and happiness in doing both.

It is rather freeing when you realise you are in control of what you do and don’t do, isn’t it?

You have some very sexy folds my friends. And your words made me smile, sometimes we need to not worry about what we can’t control and that’s a difficult thing to achieve.

I’m glad you were able to just roll with your week not working out quite as planned – that’s definitely something I’m working on. I love this photo, and really hope you get to be outside in the woods with your camera again soon!

I am glad to hear that you are enjoying photography more at the moment. Our creativity is sometimes more focused on one aspect than another, and that is fine! Lovely image 🙂
