Rebel is hundred today! Well not Rebel herself obviously, but her fabulous meme Wicked Wednesday celebrates its hundredth post this week which means that I too am celebrating my 100th Wicked Wednesday post today as I am proud to say since her meme started I have joined in every single week.
Like Sinful Sunday, Wicked Wednesday has been a great facilitator in nurturing and developing a community of people who share their different creative contributions to the adult blogsphere. No matter who you are, where you are, or what your particular kink, sex, adult perspective is, you will be welcomed and encouraged. Bloggers are at their heart, attention whores, some more so than others for sure, but it is still there. Many of us blog because we love the whole process, creating the space, developing it into something we are proud of and being in control of our work. We get great personal satisfaction out if doing it. I suspect many of us would continue to blog even if no one came to read us just because we are so addicted, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love our readers. I have many of you but the vast majority of you are silent creatures that come here and consume whatever parts of my blog appeal to you and then, like a thief in the night, you leave again. I know you were here, I can see your sticky cyber fingerprints all over my stats but, for whatever reason, you rarely speak to me, that is unless you are another blogger. Those comments left for me by other blogging creatives are one of the best thing about being in this community and about memes like Wicked Wednesday.
Through those comments I learn about other people’s thoughts, feelings and opinions and I also get to see my work through their eyes. The words that spoke to them, the picture that moved them, knowing those things is a very powerful way to inform me about my own work. Often they will see things that I have not thought of, helping me to develop not only my writing or photography skill but also to develop my opinions and knowledge. When you leave a comment you not only invariable tell me something about me but you also tell me something about you. I count many of you as my friends. I truly appreciate the time you take to come here and not just read but talk to me as well. You make me think, laugh and sometimes even cry (usually in a good way). You challenge me, you educate me, you share in my joys and comfort me in my woes. You use me as inspiration and you inspire me. I never take you for granted and I want you all to know how much you, and our sex blogging community, means to me.
I thought for a long time about how to honour Wicked Wednesday and I kept coming back to this point, community. As individuals we are fairly small fry in the scheme of things on the internet but together we create something bigger than each of us as alone can achieve. Together we are a slightly louder voice that is willing to be open and honest about all things sex related. We create material that is truly unique, giving voice to a growing movement of people who want to embrace and enjoy their sexuality and work towards to combating some of the terrible shame that, through many years of suppression and conservative agenda has infused our society and people’s lives. If just one person reads something that one of us writes and feels better about themselves in some way or other, then hurrah. What a wonderful thing you (we) did for that person.
So today I am championing community because that is exactly what wicked Wednesday represents to me; A place where I can go and share my work, whatever it is, knowing that I will be encouraged, critiqued, welcomed and engaged by a community of like-minded sex positive people. There is a wonderful freedom in the whole thing. I love Wicked Wednesday, I love this community and I celebrate everything that means to me, and hopefully you, today with my 100th post for the meme.

What an absolutely wonderful post . . . and SO, So, so true.
Reading, and re-reading it over and over . . . I just kept nodding and smiling and saying out loud “Yes, Yes, Yes”.
Your word, sentence, paragraph re “community” says it all . . . just making, encouraging, hoping that others can gain a little strength, or “feel better about themselves”!!!
Oh, and without for a moment wishing to be-little your lovely photo, this post puts the lie to that phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” . . . in this case the opposite is true!!!

Molly, you touched my heart with this. You brought tears of happiness and pride to my eyes with this lovely post, with the beautiful words. You have been a support from day 1, from the moment this idea started in my head. You have always been here for Wicked Wednesday, a 100 times and I suspect if I ever reach 1000 prompts, you will still be here. Thank you for that, thank you for being a friend, my friend. I love you to bits!

What a lovely post, a lovely photo, and a fine tribute to the wonderful Rebel 🙂
I love how supportive both of you are. When my sister and I first started, you two intimidated us, and yet there was no need, as you both are so welcoming.
I think this is a remarkable post for the 100th.
Thank you for always looking out for the community.
Wonderfully said and hooray for the sex blogging community!!!!

i love the idea that we – as a community – are greater than the sum of our parts. 😉
I’d like to thank you for your support over the past eighteen months and agree, that even if no-one came to my site, I would not stop writing. It’s my escapism. Some people choose to vegetate in front of the television and watch football/soaps/etc. I choose to write about variations of wobbly bits.
😉
Molly, you always know how to find the perfect words to tie everything together. The biggest part of this is the community that we form, thank you and Rebel for making it so…lovely picture as always!!!
Congratulations on reaching your 100th Wicked Wednesday post.
How true it is about the readers who do not comment. It is a true reminder that I should comment more.
I also echo Cammies on the Floor’s comment as it was you, Lilly and Rebel who were so graceful when I made the first tentative steps in writing.
Wonderful and outstanding !
As someone new to the blogging world I have to say I was more than a little nervous and intimidated! I wouldn’t call myself a writer, I’m just me with my opinions and take on things. But I can honestly say everybody has been so lovely, encouraging and welcoming. I’m now starting to relax and as I build in confidence and am starting to really enjoy the experience.
This post just sums up the sense of community so well 🙂
