“The cinema has no boundary; it is a ribbon of dream.” ~ Orson Welles
One of my regular dog walking routes takes me straight through Hitchin Lavender Farm. You have to pay to go into the Lavender fields but you the footpath goes right through the farm itself (past the stables that I also have my eye on, but there always people) and then out up the edge of the Lavender fields through their other crops (all wheat this year).
Every summer they have Sundown Cinema at the foot of the Lavender fields that runs through August. Last year I watched it all get set up and looked at the big screen and thought if only I could get a bit closer it would make a brilliant Scavenger Hunt.
This summer, Michael had a couple of weeks off work and so I took him on this walk as it was not one we had shared before. As we rounded the corner past the stables I couldn’t believe my luck. Not only had they moved the big screen out of the field but they had parked it up with side between two barns and I had my handy photographer helper at my side.
Of course it couldn’t be that easy. As we walked up to the screen we realised that just beyond it opposite the cars you can see in the picture was a gathering of ladies doing Saturday morning yoga on the grass in front of the Lavender fields. However I was determined not to miss this opportunity as I was pretty sure finding a outdoor cinema screen laying around was not something I was going to encounter very often. So I tucked myself in behind the vehicle that it was attached to and waited for his signal before quickly (and I mean quickly) performing a boob flash. Not exactly the best outdoor picture I ever got but this is the Scavenger Hunt and it all about succeeding rather than the quality of the pictures.
I have looked through the Scavenger hunt locations on Bee’s site and I was sure that outdoor cinema/movie screen was on the list but I can’t seem to find it so I think maybe I have snagged a brand new location. Hopefully Bee will approve my efforts and add it to the list. That will make this my 102nd location completed

Mission accomplished! Well done 🙂
I love the little dog. He’s offering interested protection …
I’m laughing as I read this becasue I can just imagine you lining everything up for the quick snap before someone comes around the corner.
And I’ve added Outdoor Screen as a new category…well done!
