My Thanksgiving Dinner

by Molly Moore

26th November

I told you I would be back with a short update on my Thanksgiving dinner. I have never been with a man who could not only cook up such a wonderfully tasty meal but could do it without making a fuss, without getting cross or impatient, and could make everyone laugh while he was doing it. It was the most perfect afternoon/evening.

Oh boy He can seriously cook. We had roast turkey, stuffing,  whipped potato that is to die for, broccoli, gravy, cranberry sauce and fresh-baked bread rolls and my contribution was some mulled wine. Just looking at this picture again now is making my tummy rumble

This was my first ever pumpkin pie. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, it’s just not something we have in the UK at all but it was delicious. VERY filling and rich and considering I had had second helpings of the above featured plate I was feeling a little full but

there is always room for a desert in my world, especially a home-made desert like this!

After we had eaten and the little people were finally in bed, I fell asleep in His arms on the sofa, feeling stuffed, warm and so happy and contented that I think I might have been purring. Later he woke me, took me upstairs to bed and used me thoroughly for His pleasure. The perfect end to my very first American Thanksgiving I think. If only I had known all this I would have started celebrating it years ago……

I’m glad you enjoyed your first Thanksgiving! 🙂
Just curious, but was it all homemade?

He roasted a turkey, used a mix for the stuffing as not enough time to make own, home made mash, which he whipped with a mixer (now my kids want it like ALL the time) baked fresh rolls from part baked ones…..and a home made Pumpkin Pie, with tinned pumpkin he bought all the way from Murrica with him.
