This is a beautiful capture, Molly. Forgive me if I’m off base, but this feels like a triumph over the shitty societal rhetoric that women “dry up” (physically, sexually, etc.) as soon as they are over 35, have kids, etc. It’s a turn of phrase that I find so offensive, as if women are just desiccating in middle age and becoming less sexual, taking up less space, literally withing away. The reality, of course, is quite the opposite for many women, as is evidenced by this sensual image.
It is funny you mention that but I nearly wrote a postscript to the poem along the line of, not bad looking for an older woman.

Well I would attest to that! I am almost 81 and have been in an awakened sexual state now for three months! I’m tired of having to defend my relationship with a 66 year old man who loves me and finds me attractive and wants to make love at least once a day!! Dry? No way!
