When they asked me why I did it I told them the truth
“Love made me do it”
Apparently that’s not a defense but it didn’t really matter because now he would always be mine and I had no regrets.
He said he loved her now. That he was sorry. That he never meant to hurt me. That he would make sure I was looked after. He said a lot of things as the blood oozed out of him and pooled across the dark tiles of our kitchen.
“You’re mine. Forever” I replied as I kissed him one last time.
