Day 2 of my Scavenger Hunt week and this time we are in a Nature Reserve that is on the edge of my town. It is an odd place tucked away in the far corner of some parkland that houses a large fishing pond. I have heard rumours that the Nature Reserve area, that is very secluded from the rest of the park, is well known for its location as a gay cruising area. I have walked there a few times and oddly found myself there with a few men who seem to be wandering aimlessly around and unlike on most of my walks they don’t seem to ever have the obligatory dog with them and so I suspect the rumours are true.
On the day we took these shots the place was, luckily, completely deserted however what you can’t see from these images and why there are not many is because this is a reed marsh the pathways are really very narrow and so getting a good picture was actually quite a challenge
This little wall provided the perfect spot though, it was obviously built to stop the marsh from flooding into the field at the back of the park and as such a slightly wider pathway has formed which gave us the space to get a good enough shot that I think Dee will allow me to count this as my Nature Reserve location and notch No.54 on my Scavenger Hunt list
