10th November 2011
I know you are out there. I don’t know who you are but I watch you silently come and go. Often I can tell where you come from, what little trail of mine you have picked up on to end up here at my blog. I share myself with you yet who are you? You travel here to my corner of the internet from all over the globe and my stats tell me that you come in your thousands, some of you only stop by once but the majority of you come back again and again and again, yet on the whole you remain silent lurking on my blog, reading, watching, maybe learning, possibly agreeing or disagreeing, being turned on or turned off. Well whoever you are and for whatever reason you visit me for, today is all about you because today is Love Your Lurkers day.
This idea was started by Bonnie who blogs over at My Bottom Smarts and this year will be the 6th year of Love Our Lurkers day. Here is what she says about it
“On Thursday, November 10, many spanking, DD, and Ds bloggers will publish posts where they invite their readers to comment. Any reader, even first timers, are welcome to participate, but the people we really hope to hear from are our beloved lurkers. A lurker is a regular reader who doesn’t comment or otherwise let their presence be known. As most bloggers know, lurkers represent the majority of our readership.
LOL Day provides an opportunity for these silent readers to speak. Perhaps they are shy. Maybe they think they have nothing to add. Or, possibly, they’ve been waiting to be invited. Tomorrow, we will issue that invitation. Bloggers are encouraged to interact with their readers
For those unfamiliar with Love Our Lurkers Day, it’s an annual event dedicated to appreciating and recognizing our silent readers. The idea is that each blog invites their readership to leave comments. We don’t wish to compel anyone to speak, but for those waiting for their invitation to become part of the group, this is their day.
Last year, we had 110 blogs participating and 2,627 total comments. It was a lot of fun for everyone and we met many new friends.”
As Bonnie says lurkers make the vast majority of a blogs readership and this event is in honour of that silent majority and an invite to them all to speak out. I first read about this idea earlier in the year when I discovered Bonnie’s blog and the concept immediately appealed to me. As my traffic has increased steadily over the last year or so I guess I have become increasingly intrigued by the silent readers and so when the opportunity arose to maybe have a chance of getting to know them just a tiny bit more and also tell them how very important they are to me I knew I had to take part.
So to my wonderful lurkers this day is all about you and my opportunity to show my appreciation for your continued support and readership of my little corner of the interwebs! You intrigue me and I would love to know more about you or hear what you would like to know about me. Why do you come here? How did you find me? What do you like about my blog? What don’t you like? Is there one burning question you have always wanted to ask me? A topic you would like me to blog about? Or maybe photograph request? Whatever you feel like saying I look forward to hearing it, even if it is just a hello.
As Bonnie says on her blog “today’s lurkers are tomorrow’s friends. All they need is a little encouragement.” And so I hope with a little encouragement that today might just bring me some new blogging friends. Could it be you?

Ps… You don’t have to be a lurker to comment today, even if you are a regular commenter here I still want to here about you too.

Hello. Not shy, just not a really Ds fan, though it does excite me. I guess I’m a spectator.
Spectators are always good….specially for the exhibitionist in me!

I’m here too. Bit of a lurker, so I don’t comment as often as I should.
😀
I’m Liza and I lurk :). I recently started reading your blog. I love that it’s part D/s love story. So much. Keep up the great work.
I nearly didn’t remember to post, lurker that I am… :p I lurk because I usually read things quickly and think I’ll come back later and comment and then never do. But look, I came back, just for today. 😀
Hi, Molly, happy LOL Day. I’ll take this cue to delurk here 🙂
P.S. Is that font “lobster?” It’s the same one I use, I love it!
I definitely don’t lurk – but it’s lovely to see so many readers saying hello! 🙂

I’ve recently started reading your blog. I don’t usually commit long to blogs, as soon most bore me with their redundancy. Yours, conversely, keeps my attention. It’s simple Molly…you intrigue me.
Thanks for sharing a part of yourself.
Hi Molly – I’m not really here. You didn’t see me. My raincoat cloaking device is infallible. Sort of. As you know, I firmly believe in the writing AND the pics. We appreciate you.

I lurk, but I usually don’t have the energy to comment. Thanks for sharing your life with us! **hugs**
