To the beach

“Are you taking us to the beach?” ~ Jude Watson

Why yes I most definitely am. There will be low tide, vast expanses of beach and a sky filled with sweeping grey and white clouds that seem to mimic the sea beneath it and the wind, oh the wind, it will snatch the words from your mouth and threaten to do the same with anything in your hands. it will plaster your hair to your face or head or else whip it up in a frenzied dance around your head. You will even wonder at moments if maybe the wind will steal away your little dog, casting him up into the sky like he is made from tissue paper. But he has no fear, in fact he is loving it and the wind blows his ears up so they stand proud atop his head and you laugh at him and the wild aliveness of it all.

I honestly can not begin to tell you how windy it was this day. It was so loud and so intense that you had to shout to have a conversation. You can see in the top picture the wind surfers but what you can’t tell is how incredibly fast they were going. Personally it looked like madness to me but then I am sure there are people who think flashing your tits in such weather is also madness, they might be right but they also would definitely miss out on the joyfulness of doing so.

I did two pictures for this location, which is Groynes. Capturing the old rotting groynes posts that have clearly been given up to the sea and the newer ones that have been put in to try to stop the erosion of the pebble beach that sits higher up the shore line. This is Winchelsea beach down in East Sussex a place well known for being bloody windy and wild and it definitely lived up to that on this occasion.

This is my 98th Scavenger Hunt location. Two more to go to the big 100!

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve been to Winchelsea … and no windsurfers back in those days … but, yes I do remember the wind!

Very brave … but lovely, lovely photos !!!

Molly, your exuberance is infectious! I hate windy days, but you are embracing it and looking amazing while doing it. xx

There definitely is something very free about flashing your boobs. Although I have never done it in a place as cold and windy as this!!!
I love the joy of the shot.

I love a beach when it looks stormy and windy, they’re so dramatic and beautiful. That said a bit of sun wouldn’t be too bad either *laughs
