Gorgeous, glowing rays of light…This was what true beauty and goodness looked like– a spectral, luminescent gathering of beings so pure it hurt to look directly at them, like the most glorious eclipse, or maybe Heaven itself. ~ Lauren Kate
Yesterday, after dinner, I packed up my camera, grabbed my tripod and drove to some woodlands nearby. It has been a very long time since I took self portraits outdoors that were not Scavenger Hunt pictures but I had an idea for this weeks Sinful Sunday prompt, which is the letter R, and also I wanted to get something really special for next Sunday as that will be week 700 of the Sinful Sunday meme.
I took quite a lot of pictures in the last of the evening sun as it cut through the woods and created little pools of golden light. My original plan had been to do something for the word, recline, but when I got home and showed Michael the images I had taken he suggested rays of light instead which I loved because my favourite picture from this tree is not really me reclining.
I had so much fun taking these though. The woods I went to are always empty but there are a lot of squirrels and deer who live there. I didn’t see any deer but I will say the squirrel population managed to get me to grab for my dress on a number of occasions as they ran and played through the dried leaves and twigs.
Oh and I had such a good time that it gave me the horn and when I got back to the car I got out my phone and quickly jotted down a couple of hundreds words of a woodland fuck that has sprung into my mind while I was taking my pictures. So not only did I get some great pictures but maybe, just maybe, it might have inspired me to write something too.
