“In joy or sadness, flowers are our constant friends.”
~ Okakura Kakuzo
I actually took this picture nearly a month ago when my Quince tree was in full bloom but I didn’t post it at the time because it was prompt weekend and it didn’t fit. Usually for me I put it to one side and forgot about it. Today I was out in my garden and was looking to see if my Quince tree had set any fruit from all that blossom (which is has) but that suddenly reminded me about taking this picture.
This is not my first image with this beautiful tree. Back in 2018 I posted this shot taken at the other end of it’s seasonal life when it was laden with fruit. This tree has sentimental value to me. My mum bought it for me when I first moved here and so it is about 20 years old. The reason for picking a Quince tree was because we both missed the Quince Jelly that my Grandmother had made for us each year.
I love how this image came out. I like how the pink tingle of the blooms matches the red tones of my hair and I adore how my hair looks in this. I have a couple of other images from this shoot but this one is definitely my favourite. I adjusted the brightness slightly and also enhanced the clarity slightly of the flowers in the foreground that are in focus but apart from that it is pretty much straight out of the camera.
