Thanks to the wonderful Haiku on Twitter this morning I discovered that today is Galentines Day, a non-official holiday for women celebrating women. Haiku wrote a little thread about it and about the power of female friendship and support not just from the women who are our friends beyond Twitter or blogging but those women who we interact with online who make us laugh and think and send positive thoughts when we need them and generally create an amazing force for positivity. Lots of people knock social media, and for valid reasons, but without it I wouldn’t have those friendships and I wouldn’t get to be part of the communities that have helped to nurture, inspire and support me.
With today being Galentines I suddenly realised I had the perfect picture to post for my Throwback Thursday. One that I took and posted last summer after a wonderful day out with a group of amazing women, including Haiku herself. Originally I posted the black and white version of this picture but at the time I also edited a colour version which I set aside for future use. Today is the perfect day for that.
So to all my female friends, the ones in this image and all the rest of you; Happy Galentines Day. You make my world a better happier place and there are not words enough to explain how much I appreciate you all for who you are and the love and support and friendship you bring into my life.
