I had a visceral reaction to this shot. It feels stark and angsty. Maybe the angle emphasized the "down" - exhaustion, depression, ennui... I can't put my finger on it, but it's there, and it's somatic. Brilliant!

There's something in this shot that makes me want to put my arms around you and comfort you. It's brilliant in the way it calls up emotion, but also how my eye keeps on going back to your arms over your head. Rebel xox

O you clever lady! So many people before me have made comment to its sadness both image and words. I too don’t like the sad feeling it draws out of me but it’s such a great angle.

What a powerful photo. It would be great anyway, but those words add a completely new layer of narrative. It's amazing how the quotes/words that get used do that. Xx
