Ghost – FebPhotoFest Day 15

“She was beautiful, ethereal, and in that glow, she should have reminded him of an angel. But to his horror, he realized that she didn’t.
She reminded him of a ghost.” ~ Jacqueline E. Smith

I have always really liked this image. I took it on my phone in really low light. The result is my phone has pixelated it slightly and also it was slightly blurred. I very nearly deleted it but luckily I thought I would give it a spin through Snapseed first just to see what happened.

I loved the result. It looked like a painting and the colours were sultry and dreamy. I posted it back in 2022 with words about how hot anticipation can be. Sweet Anticipation I just seemed to fit my sentiments perfectly

When I was look through my images for ones to re-edit for this project I saw the original and wondered what it might look like black and white. The result was quite frankly disappointing. It lost depth and definition. As I slowly slide the saturation bar back up I started to see potential for a new edit. I played some more with tones and contrast and this is the final result and on this one I can confidently say that I definitely prefer the new version to the old. It has a ghostly haunting aspect to it. There is something eerie about it and that is a feeling (you should definitely read this post if you have not already) that I strongly vibe with.

So what about you? original or new ghostly edit?
