For a man who keeps his nails very short he has an amazingly ability to use them in ways that feel like he is striping off the top layer of my skin. Just to be clear I am not complaining, merely remarking on it because it always surprises me when he does it and I usually end up taking his hand and studying his nails, which are about as short as nails can be without actually eating away at them, in a bid to try to understand how it is possible.
However when you don’t really have nails to scratch with there are of course many wonderful alternatives that you can turn to. We have a small finger claw that we bought many years ago and has been used on more than one occasion to play noughts and crosses (tic-tac-toe for the murricans) on my back. The wonderful thing about that toy is that it is tiny and he can slip it into his pocket and basically take it anywhere. Then all he has to do is slip his hand into his pocket, slide it onto his finger and if I am wearing the right dress, place a hand on my back, or if it is the summer on my thigh. To everyone else it looks like a gentle loving caress when in fact it is a touch that leaves behind a hot angry welt. Still loving in my book but not really gentle.
Of course one of my favourite ways to get all scratched is a knife. I love the combination of the sensation and the power/threat of a knife. It totally works for me. From the first touch of cold steel which then gives way to a that pulling dragging almost slicing sensation across my skin which instantly fights back to flooding the area with heat. The image used in the header of this Kink of the Topic is a perfect example of what a nice sharp knife can do and if I am really lucky in places it will break the skin just enough for little droplets of blood to appear.
But why stop there…
Why not buy something that’s purpose in life is to be scratchy?
We found it at a Fetish Market in London and well, both of us were drawn to it like two BDSM Magpies and so obviously it came home with us. We call it the garden rake for obvious reasons. It is surprisingly heavy, beautifully shiny and the claws are deceptively sharp to the extent that if you apply enough pressure they will break the skin. He has used it as an impact toy, both the handle end that is hard and thuddy and the claw end that is sharp and evil and when applied to an already well flogged bottom will create a bloody mess with very little effort. He has also been know to use the handle for other more penetrating uses for which it is pleasing well-shaped for.
Over the years we have purchased a lot of different kinky toys some have been good buys and others not so much but this is definitely one that was worth the money. He has used it all sorts of evil ways and it is also just a cool and interesting thing to look at. So many people have asked us at play events what it is and where we got it from resulting in us chatting to people we probably wouldn’t have done otherwise and making kinky friends is always a good thing.
If you are missing long sharp nails or just like the look of this device of torture then you can purchase one from Trussed UK (and yes they do ship internationally)

My husband is a master gardener. When I first saw your photo, I was like, “Oooh–!!! Yard equipment pervertable!” But, I guess not. 😉
Haha, well you could always do the reverse and turn a kink toy, non kinky

Oooooooh that looks and sounds like an EXCELLENT toy!
Mmm I like the look of that very much.
Ooh that’s a beastly looking weapon. I’ve sometimes fantasized about a pirate’s hook, but never seen one like this before!
Woweee – that’s an instrument -quite beautiful in its own way – or perhaps its the way you have captured it in your photo x
Ooooh we have exactly the same tool and where the points are more or less rounded, it does leave beautiful marks!

I’m curious and petrified of that thing. Mostly veduaE I haven’t done a lot of play with sharp things. Still rather fascinating.
I had the same thought as Mrs. Fever – I thought it *was* an actual garden rake! Also, I think you should put “BDSM Magpie” on a business card.
That looks like a very fun toy. I saw a finger claw once at a friend’s and have always considered getting one for myself. I might have to really do that now.
Knowing we both like scratchy, we were looking at that claw a while ago but the one we found was much blunter and for that reason it was pointless buying it. We have heard they’re scratchier again but we everything else we need (want) we just haven’t got round to it yet.
