Twinkle

“We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle.” ~ Marilyn Monroe

For those that are interested the only editing I have done to this shot is to crop it slightly and to mess with the colour tones, apart from that it is straight out of the camera. I achieved the see through effect by shooting a very long exposure and stepping out of the image for the last few seconds. My camera was set to ISO 100, F25, and a 25 second exposure and the only lights in the room where the tree. For such a long exposure you would also need a tripod there is absolutely no way you could achieve it hand held.

I'm so impressed. I would have sworn you'd had to do layers for this pic so the info was very useful. A fab photo and great quote. I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to post next week, but have a wonderful xmas and thanks for your hard work and beautiful images. Indie xx

Brilliant execution - I haven't done any long exposures like that since I quit shooting film. Beautiful result - perhaps a ghost of Christmas past or future?
