It’s a small world after all

One of the joyous things about writing a sex blog is getting to meet other sex blogging folks. Over the last 8 years I (we) have been fortunate enough to meet a ton of different people from all over the world. Eroticon has definitely boosted those numbers but we have also always made the effort to make new connections in person with people outside of that time too. Often that means meeting up for drinks or dinner but sometimes, if I am really lucky, it means getting the opportunity to take someone’s picture.

One of those opportunities unexpectedly presented itself during the summer. Teacher’s Have Sex is not a blogger I thought I would ever get to meet in person. An American living and working in South East Asia, it seemed highly unlikely that our paths would ever cross in person  but I should have known better really as so often has been the case in the past, stars align or in this case travel plans work out (and it was a close thing because her trip to the UK nearly coincided with us being in Greece) and she found herself in London for a few short days. Not only that she also had time to hop on a train and come visit me in my neck of the woods. We are only 25 minutes on the train from central London but still considering she had a very limited amount of time it was amazing she was able to do that.

The funny thing is when you meet a person in real life who you feel that you already know from their writings and photography it somehow seems so easy to get along. It is like you have both already done and getting to know you bit and now you are just fitting some missing pieces together. The only thing that really surprised me about her was that she shared my end of the height spectrum and was much shorter than I expected. It is interesting how even though we see pictures of people it is often difficult to judge someones height. I can’t tell you how many people have commented on my height saying that I am much shorter than they expected.

Anyway, one of the real joys of Jo coming to our place was that I got to take her on one of my walks into the woods and take her picture. I really do love taking my self portraits there is something calming and therapeutic about the whole process but I also really relish the opportunity to take other people’s images too. Sadly busy lives mean I don’t get to do it that often but this was to be a rare and enjoyable chance to indulge that love with someone who was more than happy to strip off naked in the woods and let me direct her.

We got a lot of images and most of them, hopefully, bar a few that show too much of her face, will appear on her blog in due course but here are my two favourite images from all the ones we took.

This tree is a favourite spot for me and when we got to this location she quite literally embraced it. I love how she looks a bit like a Koala Bear hanging onto the tree and how the sunlight is shining through the leaves and creating beautiful shadows on skin. She just looks so comfortable and at one with the environment and I love it.

And this is my other favourite image. On the walk back from the woods we passed by this field, it used to have horses in it but the last year or so it seems to have been just left empty. It was Jo who remarked on the beautiful sky with the dramatic clouds and so we found a gap in the fence and made our way up into a part of the field that was covered with these yellow flowers. There is one brilliant image of Jo crouching down when she realised that the guys riding past on the path could see her standing naked in the field but it is this image that is definitely my favourite of all them because it captures the joy of the moment, of making a connection with someone, of the beautiful sky, the slightly wild landscape and being completely naked.
