“Art is never finished, only abandoned.” ~ Leonardo da Vinci
This Thursday I woke up to a beautiful sunny autumnal day. Having not been out with my camera for a while I hopped out of bed, flung on some old scruffs and set off to one of the woodlands near my house hoping to find some lovely October colours to compliment my self portraits. Oddly many of the trees are still fairly green, albeit a yellowy orange green but in the end it wasn’t the trees that became my canvas but something else altogether.
The pathway into the wood starts right by the road and for about 50 yards the track is wide enough to drive a truck or small van down. As a result there is often trash dumped along that path. I have seen all sorts there including carpets, bits of furniture and building materials. Now and then someone seems to come along and clear it all up but the nasty fuckers keep coming back and dumping their waste there. It is only a matter of time before someone puts up some concrete barriers to stop them getting in but in the meantime it goes on.
This time however what was left called to me and so I set up my camera, stripped off my clothes and turned someone elses abandoned rubbish into art.
If you are curious about the circle of light of light just above my thigh that is a sun flare that the camera picked up as the sunlight was cutting in through the trees.
