Singest of Summer

“That thou, light-winged Dryad of the trees,
In some melodious plot
Of beechen green, and shadows numberless,
Singest of summer in full-throated ease.” John Keats

As the prompt last week was outdoor photography and as you have probably noticed that is definitely my thing I thought I would see if I can manage to post an outdoor image for all the Sinful Sunday’s in June.

I took this one a couple of years ago at a private garden that an photographer had hired for the day and I was invited to go along for the day. This amazing plant is Gunnera Manicata also know as Giant Rhubarb or Dinosaur Food and it tucked away in a corner of this garden but the moment I saw it I knew I had to use it in an image. It was starting to rain so I only got two images and when I got home I was delighted that both of them had come out pretty well. The other might appear at some point but I picked this one to post because it is Michael’s favourite.

Wow - the addition of the veil changes this image for me completely. I feel it adds a virginal tone to it. Maybe that's why it's Michael's favourite lol. It is, of course stunning. Intrigued what the other image is too. Certainly looks like a spectacular garden. x

You look fabulously fairy-like in this photo! We have a gunnera plant. My husband got it from one of the neighbors last summer ("Sue gave me gonorrhea!" he exclaimed - uhm, WHAT?!?), and it's awesome. In a funky, huge, prehistoric kind of way. It's really bushed out this season, but it's not THAT big; the leaves are about three feet in diameter. Not big enough to hold a Molly. :)

I keep saying !I love this image!" every week, don't I? But it's true.

That is truly amazing. A really beautiful scene, with it's own lovely dryad. (That may be tautology; I think all dryads are beautiful. Goes with the name and myth. Pedantry/off!) Anyway, you make a lovely dryad! And a wonderful green photo!

it could be a scene from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Stunning.

This image has sent my mind off creating stories which I think all the best ones do. Imagining you taking the opportunity to make it also makes me smile. Lovely. Just lovely.
