Re-Haunting

I posted this image alongside what it still one my favourite pieces of fiction I have ever penned: Haunting You.

Ghostly woman in graveyard

I do like the original edit, the way the light is falling on my face and the fact that you can just make out the gravestones but it has long been on my list of images to reshoot as I think it could be improved upon. However then I got to thinking that maybe some tweaking on the editing side of things might also be worth a try. Could some cropping and playing with the light and tones maybe improve things?

I think the answer is definitely yes. It has introduced a bit more noise into the image but I actually like how that gives it a slightly more gritty feel. The crop has definitely made bought the focus of the image more on me but not lost too much of the surroundings and so the context of the environment is still in place. I like that my face is better illuminated and that it looks more ghostly pale and I have managed to bring out the shaft of light as it plays across the small grave and foliage behind me.

Will I still re-shoot? I will definitely return to this location as it is rich in possibilities but I think the need to re-shoot this exact image again is now satisfied.

I love this edit –it so reminds me of “The Woman in White” even though your are actually in black 😉 Gorgeous and evocative x
