Summer’s Blood

by Molly Moore
Blackberry red lips Summer's Blood

“Late August, given heavy rain and sun for a full week, the blackberries would ripen. At first, just one, a glossy purple clot among others, red, green, hard as a knot. You ate that first one and its flesh was sweet like thickened wine: summer’s blood was in it leaving stains upon the tongue and lust for picking.” ~ Seamus Heaney

There’s something very vampirish and stunning about this. Not your usual but it is beautiful in a Twilight sort of way!

Great and unique capture. Could be used for the logo if they make a sequel to the Rocky Horror Show 😉

This is soooo sexy! It also reminded me of RHPS. I love Seamus Heaney’s poetry – this is a perfect quote for such a lusty picture! Now I desperately want to kiss someone whose lips are smeared with berries…

Love the vibrant colour in this, and the little dribble. Like a tasty Rocky Horror Show poster.

Wow, this is bloody brilliant! It’s funny, @19syllables and I were talking about a blackberry picking photo this time last year and I had completely forgotten about it until seeing yours. And the conversation had stemmed from us talking about Heaney and this poem!!! Xxx

This is fantastic! Creepy in a way and really calls out to my love of everything vampire.

And ‘im indoors said ‘Oh wow!’ so fine praise there too.

This is incredibe! I keep zooming in and out trying to figure out how you got the incredible fade to white effect. And of course, the details inside your mouth, your teeth, the texture if your tongue, the berry, *sigh* just amazing.
