The World Cup and the resulting Sinful Sunday competition spurred me on to finally do a Scavenger Hunt that has been on my ‘to-do list’ for ages now. This football pitch is in the field at the back of our house and despite it being used a great deal by local kids the council seems to have sadly given up maintaining it this summer, hence the longish grass. Even it is slightly sorry state that doesn’t seem to put the kids off too much so I knew this had to be a weekday activity when all the budding footballer would hopefully be occupied in school. Sadly, there is no such distraction for dog walkers.

So, who wants to play football with me?

Despite not scoring any actual goals I am claiming this as a ‘Sports Field’ win on my Scavenger Hunt list.

Love these so much! Though I'm kind of glad I didn't stumble upon you like this on any of the football pitches I frequented as a teenager - pretty sure that would've ruined me for other women for life! ;)

So there was no goalkeeper, and you still didn't score? Planning a call up for England, any time soon?! Pity about hte state of the pitch; our council has given up maintaining lots too. Like roads, local amenities as well as parks. ;-(
