As has become tradition here during February Photofest today is Throwback Thursday the idea of which is to bring back to life an image previous published on my blog and apply my increasing knowledge when it comes to editing images to hopefully improve on it, or at least give it a different ‘feel’.
This week I have gone for this self-portrait that I took in the woods a couple of years ago. I have always been rather pleased with this image as the clarity of the reflection in the butt plug was so good. However with some work I think I have improved that even more. I have tightened the crop on the image to make the plug and its reflection the real focus. I have adjusted the colour tones slightly to give it a warmer feel and also lightened the bottom half of the reflection so you can see even more detail in that area. I think this is image really pops now, which seems appropriate considering what it is and where you pop it…

My first thought when I saw the pic was that it was something like a finial on a gate post. I was going to comment that it looked just like a … oh … it is a butt plug. Oh don’t I look sill now.

Just to be clear I did not photoshop the reflection into the plug, it is taken like that… all I did was crop and enhance the clarity in some areas and applied a colour filter to drop away the background.

I am retiring in about a year and a half. Your photos have inspired me to start purchasing better equipment and pursue photograhy when I have the time to do so. My husband/Master and I plan to retire in an RV and travel the states and Canada. Should be plenty of inspiration! Thank you.
