Holiday Bauble

Some things about this image…

  • Yes it is a self-portrait. If you look closely you can actually see my camera on its tripod with in the middle of the bauble.
  • The background is a green/brown colours because behind the bauble is fairly dense woodland. However the view the other way shows blue sky because I was on the edge of the woodland.
  • I used a long lens to get in close enough to the bauble to get the reflection within.
  • Yes I am on my own in the woods. That is nearly always the case when I work outdoors.
  • The only editing I have done to this image is to increase the exposure (excuse the pun) in the bottom half of the bauble and increase the clarity of the whole bauble so that it pops a bit more.

So would you like to hang me on your Christmas tree…

Of course I would. However based on how our tree decorating went this year the U.N. will have to be called in to negotiate it with the kids prior to hanging you up.

That really is a great pic. I tips me lid and drops me jaw, frankly.

Technically amazingly clever and accomplished, and then there’s the beautiful woman.
