Wedding Vows

Black bride and groom white wedding

I have been following Leone Ross’ Ten Day Flash Fiction Challenge on Facebook which was bought to my attention by Remittance Girl. The challenge is currently on Day 7 but so far I have been short of time and possibly a little bit lacking in confidence to actually join in, until now….

Exercise 7: A PICTURE’S WORTH 55 WORDS.
Choose one picture from this album. Write a small piece of flash fiction inspired by that picture: a moment, an illumination. However you interpret it. Don’t forget your senses: smell, texture, taste, sound, the quality of light.
WORD LIMIT: 55 words plus title.

Black bride and groom white weddingWhat a sumptuous affair this wedding is. Happiness flows through the air almost choking me with its sickly scent of perfection. Seeing you all loved up with him makes bitterness throb through my veins and plans for revenge decorate my mind. This marriage won’t last long. I shall see to that.

Thank you… I assume when that happens that it just didn’t move people, which is fine, but tells me I didn’t hit the mark… I still like it though, for it’s worth
