Split World

by Molly Moore
Gloved hand on neck

Within an evil lurks, pawing at me, tightening its grip

My world is stripped naked, colour consumed by greedy darkness

Outside the colours rage, unaware of this bliss

My delicious split world

Gloved hand on neck

The words in your poem spoke to me..especially the first statement. Powerful. I had to giggle at first because my SS photo is a window shot too. Window shots with darkened faces, a similar theme yet representing different emotions & feelings. Love it.
Interpretation, is all I can think of.
Happy SS.

Very personal poem. You stated so much without using many words. I enjoyed it.

It reminds me of a scene from a noir film full of sex, lies, and secrets. I love when you partially desaturate a photo, but this is the best yet. And the green from outside reflecting against his glove is pure photographic perfection. xxx

I love the contrast of the colors and outside/inside. The best part was that the second take I see the hand around the throat blending perfectly, almost making it that more secretive.

The composition in this image is gorgeous; I love how the image is split in half, the lines on the window, & the hand gripping you from a corner. It’s balanced and beautiful.

I find this picture amazing. The words add to it, of course. Beautiful.

To be honest, I didn’t know what I was looking at at first. The outline at the top of your head’s shadow had me thinking it was some sort of “monster” costume – further accentuated by the first line in the poem – and I love that. It’s almost as if I was able to see two pictures – one of this ‘creature’ hiding by the window, then realizing it was in fact you. Extremely well done again, Molly. 🙂

Beautifully rendered image, fitting the words perfectly. A true… and delicious… dichotomy 🙂

I love how you always find the perfect words with your beautiful pictures. That makes this post so powerful.

The drained interior colour juxtaposed over the exterior colours gives this such an eerie feel. Somehow imagine fangs are the next step.

I recall a certain song called Paint it Black where the lead singer wanted the colourful world to reflect the monochrome nature of his depressive mood.

I see that in this: a bright, unthreatening green world through the window, inaccessible by the darkened figure behind it.,

Breathtaking 😉

Superb words and such an emotive picture. Both words and picture also come across as very dark, making me want to know the entire story.
