On The Rocks
Seeing as we have been on our travels and are currently at the airport waiting for our flight back to the UK I only have a cheeky little post to kick off the year with. However sometimes it is important to start as you mean to go on with some fun and so why not a Scavenger Hunt image taken whilst we have been away.
This was taken in St Peter’s Village, which is a tourist village on the outskirts of Philadelphia. It is the site of an old quarry and when they used to mine here they rolled the large rocks, that they didn’t want, down the hillside. Over time they gradually filled up the creek at the bottom of the hill and so it has now turned into this rather amazing stretch of water that runs over, under and what seems to be, through all these boulders.
Some of the rocks never quite made it all the way to the creek though and remain perched on the shore. I am sure in the summer it is a wonderful place to picnic and sunbathe but as you can see it was a little on the cold side this time of year but I think flashing your bum in the snow is the perfect way to kick off 2013!
