Storming The Castle

I have an absolutely stinky cold. My nose is pouring, I am coughing in a most unattractive fashion and I think my head might be about to explode. Needless to say this is not very conducive to writing, in fact it is not very conducive to breathing let alone writing and so for this weeks Wicked Wednesday I have decided to share with you one of the Scavenger Hunts we managed to do during the summer.

Bodium Castle is a 14th century moated castle nestled in the heart of the English countryside in East Sussex.

Boduim Castle

We went there in August on a sunny day. It was full of families enjoying the school break and the tiny bit of summer time we did have in the UK this year. When we arrived and saw the amount of people we were fairly sure that Scavenger Hunting was going to be right out, but it turned out that with a little patience, a lot of loitering in dark rooms until other people moved on and the perfect loose topped t-shirt success could still be had. As per usual we had a lot of fun doing this and the high chance of getting caught out really does seem to make my blood pump. By the time we got back to the car I was horny as hell.

The more and more I do these Scavenger Hunt images the more and more I become convinced that in general people are extremely unobservant about what is going on around them and even what is going on right next to them. If you look like you are meant to be there and are doing nothing out of the ordinary then most people believe exactly what they want to see rather than what is in fact actually happening.

It is all about projecting some confidence and staring down the loiterers until they give up and move on. Only then can you really claim the castle as your own!

Oh, that’s so brilliant – especially the last pic with people everywhere! You’re right, too. People really just don’t pay attention unless you shove it under their nose, which continually blows me away 🙂

Awesome! Also, a very beautiful place. I still prefer Hever, but that isn’t really a castle. Leeds is also gorgeous – the grotto would be a fab place for a photoshoot.

Hahaha! I especially love that last picture (of course it helps to have a partner in crime to pull something like that off… I scarcely think I could go back and forth setting up a timer with people around like that!). Great fun 🙂

As always, amazing photos! Love the last one. This is why I always people watch, you never know. I haven’t been lucky to spot a beauty like yourself.

Oh Molly Molly Molly!! you did claim that castle too. That last image, with all those visitors and budding historians within a stonethrow of our fearless scavenger! wow!
I am hoping that your current affliction isn’t due to prancing around ancient ruins with few clothes on. It never did really heat up this summer did it.
Have a toddy on me

I love the first and last Scavenger photo! You are so right, people just does not seem to notice. As if they are ‘afraid’ to look or to admit to themselves what they are seeing.
